Examination of a tool's reliability uses a framework of

bulletDescriptive statistics
bulletDistribution of cases
bulletReliability of a scale(s)
bulletItem analysis using correlation to scale or other reliability measures.
bulletScale construction patterns using Principal Component Extractions (Factor analysis)
bulletExamination of differences in category or group performance based on selected criteria (gender, age, ethnic identities, language groups, etc.)
